Last Saturday I contested for the PTA member on Rigved’s behest. He thought as a PTA member I will get a license to destroy kids who trouble him. I don’t need to be a PTA member for that! Anyway, there is only one boy who bothers him with what is known as the ‘One finger shock’, something fun to do but annoying to be done on! It basically means to tickle with one finger. I have more or less ‘advised’ against this to most children who used to do this to Rigved and only one boy remained. His name is Praful and he is about 3 times the size of Asad who is the healthiest kid in Rigved’s class.
I told Praful once to not to do all this and to be friends with children in his class but I think he did not get the message. Ultimately Rigved took things in his own hands and tackled the problem quite smartly. Rigved has a little rash on his right hand near the elbow. He went upto Praful and showed it to him saying, “I have got Chicken Pox, so if you must do ‘One finger shock’ to me, then you must realize that you are choosing to get Chicken Pox for yourself as this is contagious!” On hearing this Praful ran away never to bother Rigved again.
Anyway, I did not win the election and lost by 2 votes. It was quite a feat considering there were only 3 men in the room rest(about 55 of them) all being women. I got 33 votes. The woman who won is Akash’s mother and she seems like a nice lady unlike the previous PTA member who was totally sick. Thats bad considering she is a doctor. A dentist actually.

Today is the worst day of Rigved, myself and Banda s life.(I am obviously writing this much later than this date)
In a stupid, unnecessary fight between an older boy(12 yrs old) and Rigved(7 yrs old), The other boy twisted Rigveds arm with all might and it severely fractured. The bone had been broken like a twig. The pain was unbearable and he yelled and screamed all the way to the x ray clinic first and then to the hospital. Every pot hole and bump on the road rendered more pain to Rigved. Banda left office to come to the hospital. On the way she went and blasted that boy, his parents, their neighbours and in a way she blasted the whole of the building we live in. The boys parents did not even bother to come to see Rigved let alone apologize on their son s behalf! Banda almost fainted when the doctor told her what has happned to our little baby. I asked her to go home and come back later. Her mom came then to the hospital. Banda went and almost picked up a fight with the other boy s parents. The no good secretary of the building intervened and try to pacify Banda as if nothing had happened. banda insulted him so brutally that he will never be able to face Banda again ever! Back in the hospital I was ok till he was taken to the operation theatre. There was no choice but to be ok. I was not allowed in the operation theatre. I heard yells and cries inside a few more times after which the anaesthesia did what it had to. When he was brought out on a stretcher after about 40 minutes, i saw him unconscious with his entire arm in plaster. His shirt was removed off for the alignment of the bone so that it can remodel itself. I couldnt bear it anymore and i broke down.
The hospital had called the cops as this was not a minor incident and I gave a report saying it was an accident and it happened while the kids were playing! I did that because had i told the cops what had really happened then it would have ruined the other boy s life. Next day i realized that i had done a grave mistake. I should have let the boy s life get ruined as none of the society people nor the boy s parents came over to meet Rigved.
The doctor(Dr. Samir Pilankar) told us that it would take at least 2 months for recovery and a year for complete recovery! The next afternoon we got Rigved home. His hand was completely in a plaster. His left hand. He is left handed.

Rigved is being fed by Banda right now. He started talking about something to do with parents beating up children so that they can improve. Naturally Banda told him that its not necessary to beat children to make them improve. Then he kept mentioning ´what about mad children who don´t behave till they are beaten?´ Then it turns out that he meant, beating is also a language just like speaking nicely to explain something. He got this thought because of a story we read some days ago.
There was a donkey on whose back the owner kept an idol. People on the streets started offering their obeisance´s to the idol but the donkey thought they were praying to him. So he started braying loudly and generally misbehaving. The owner had to beat him for that Thus, Rigved concluded that beating is also a language!
