Right now Rigved and Banda are watching Takeshi´s Castle on Pogo. These days their taste in television programming seems to be merging.
Yesterday, Rigved played a pretty difficult level of Age of Empires and won. After the game he started playing the game with his blocks and the knights, pawns etc from Chess. He built his own castles, enemy castles, soldiers, horsemen, armies and fought a great battle. Needless to say, the white chess pieces were his army. The war went on for around 2 hours in the afternoon while Banda took a nap. All this took place so silently that it would be impossible for the onlooker to believe that there is a war going on!
Rigved draws elephants like no one in the world. He had stopped doing that for some time. Today out of a sudden he worked on a little surprise for me and handed it over. It was a small booklet made out of white note papers with elephant drawings in them.

Today Rigved asked me if I could help him out on something. He asked me to draw a heart shape in the corner of every page in his drawing book which is filled with drawings he has done from his fantasy art and mythological characters book. Next to the heart I was supposed to write, I LOVE YOU. He had already done it for some pages. The balance were to be done by me. He later presented that to Banda as a surprise. He has been cooking up a surprise every day for Banda. In most cases its a small plate with small sweets in it covered with another small plate.
I was going through the photos on my phone and found out that Rigved had been busy with it on the 18th of this month. He had assembled his jigsaw blocks to create fruit pictures and then later had clicked snaps of them.
Rigved is pretty comfortable with the phone and knows how to connect to the computer via blue tooth and transfer files!

Today morning Rigved woke up at around 9 and the first thing he did sleepily is got a book out and lay down reading it. The book was ´Bedtime Tales´!
At this moment, he is watching Narnia. He seems to be in the spirit of the movie as has used his hot wheel tracks as arrows and inserted them in the backside of t shirt like it was a quiver. Occasionally he will use many hot wheel tracks and other vertically blessed toys and stuff them in various parts of the clothes. At these times he looks like a very cute little tribal warrior!

Since yesterday, Rigved is making flags of various countries. UK, USA, Australia, Africa and of course India. He makes them on small note papers and then sticks them to ice scream sticks. Once the flag is done, he´ll come up to me and with great wonder in his eyes he will say, “Hey, how does the flag of Germany look like?”. Then I go to Google Images and show him the flag, he promptly goes there and resumes his work.
Today a month will get over since his fracture. There is great improvement in his arm and today we have to take an X Ray and visit Dr. Samir Pilankar who worked on his arm to take his opinion on whether or not we should change the plaster to a smaller one.

Rigved just announced that he has finished all the books that Banda bought him some days ago. Banda spent over 2 grand on books for children. Its another matter that I sincerely felt that she should read them as much as Rigved.

Today Rigved woke up pretty early. Almost at 7. He generally wakes up around 9:30 to 10. His main reason for wanting to wake up early is to watch Baby Looney Tunes on Cartoon Network at 9 every morning. This and Tom & Jerry are 2 cartoons which he must watch no matter when it comes on air. Along with that are animation features created by Indians like Tenali Raman, Akbar Birbal etc have to be watched.
Day before yesterday some guests were home and someone asked him what he wants to be when he grows up. He said either an artist or a musician. Though his left hand is in plaster he still practices his set of tunes on the keyboard. He wants me to work out a Mozart piece which is on of Banda´s phone. The piece is really difficult and me being lesser than a novice at playing the piano, it is going to be painful. I tried last night and managed to scavenge a few notes from the piece with no guarantee of them being right. Rigved will not accept any compromises and the right notes will have to be worked out soon!

Since Rigved´s accident we have been religiously reading The Lord of the Rings. We both sit and go through the epic at various hours of the day. I have to explain every bit to him and hence the speed is slow. Its been ten days and we are still on Fellowship of the Rings! I ve arranged for the DVD so that we can watch it after we finish Fellowship. So far we have finished 300 pages and 100 pages remain which we plan to finish by this Sunday after which we watch it with Banda. Rigved is really hooked on to LOTR and is getting impatient to get to anything about Sauron!
I love the line describing this epic on the backside:
The English reading world is divided into two kinds of people, One who have read LOTR and the other who are going to read it!

Banda sent the following message to Rigved because of his general behavior and loving nature:

Rigved looked at the message and took the phone from me to write his reply in his trademark style. I haven´t deliberately edited it.

Today Rigved finished reading his first novel! The Mystery of the Burnt Cottage by Enid Blyton. With that he has officially finished reading all the books that he has. There must be at least 70 of them! They are mostly story books, not novels. All of these books have been bought by Banda except for an exception here and there.
