Rigved

My dad had gifted Rigved a blackboard sometime back. Rigved used crayons on it and since then it couldn’t be used anymore. It was just nailed to a wall and served no purpose. Today Banda told Rigved to get rid of it as she wanted to put something else in its place. Rigved carried the blackboard outside the house where we keep our trash and placed it neatly with a note above it that read,

“For sale! Price Rs.400″

Today I was telling Rigved about how Nike and Reebok are enemies to each other in a way as the both of them are fighting for the coveted number one position. I also told him about the Pepsi and Coke war. He asked me why are the colas at war? I told its because they want to establish that they are the best cold drink in the world and hence one tries to out do the other. He replied, “I think Maaza is the best cold drink!”.

Maaza is a mango flavored drink available in India.

Today is Holi! The festival of colors. People from all age groups come together and color each other to a point where they cannot be differentiated. Hopefully the objective of this exercise is to come to a point where the differences between people disappear at least for some time. Anyway, I am not too fond of this whole hullabaloo.

Rigved just loves this festival! It gives him a all access license to play with water. And that too colored water. Banda arranged for a great looking pichkari that could blow out 5 streams of water at the same time. She also got him colors and went down with him with a bucketful of water. She had to occasionally refill it as well. She noticed that Rigved did not use water from other children´s buckets and also did not let them use his! All in all both of them were back in more then a couple of hours and Rigved was a lot greener than a Martian Alien.
