Last night Rigved attended his first Indian classical concert, Hindustani Sarode + Karnatic violin. We were invited by my very good friend Anupam Shobhakar who played the Sarode and ripped the other guy apart towards the end. Rigved loved the concert and sat through without much trouble.

On the way to the concert I told Rigved that Anupam can let you sit on stage and play the Tanpura. He asked me whats a Tanpura… I told him that its a backing instrument for the performance… Rigved replied, “Nah, I m not interested in any backing instrument. Thats like sitting indoors and hoping something will happen outdoors!”

Rigved hasnt been going to school for the last 3 days for no really good reason… I was worried that he might be missing so much studies.. In this worry I went to see what he was up to.. he had cosily curled up on the sofa and he was reading a book called The Art of War, Ancient Chinese War Techniques…. I thought to myself… ah he is missing nothing…
He has created a model of Pingu out of white clay. He plans to color it today.
The reason why he is home is because he is supposedly sick. He has a bit of congestion but he is not really looking weak or coughing or sneezing etc. He plays with his toys, reads his books, laughs out loud, goes outdoor to play in the evenings, watches movies… basically everything except for school. I guess he is sick of school…

Rigved saw an ad for Boost(a powdered chocolate flavor for milk). This ad kept coming every now and then… it has a couple of famous cricketers saying, "Boost is the secret of our energy"… After seeing it for several times today Rigved said, "If its such a secret then why are they telling it every now and then?"
When we go for a haircut, the barber wets his hair before cutting it. There is another ad on TV that has an ex Miss Universe propagating a shampoo called Pantene… the model says that if you use Pantene, then it benefits your hair because it prevents breakage of wet hair. Once Rigved quietly observed, "She is going to have a tough time when she gets a haircut!"
